chicken stock ice cubes
i have been meaning to make a post about these for a long time, but i always seem to use up the whole batch of stock on soups! i also wanted to try and update my chicken stock recipe pictures (which i have yet to do of course!) so i figured there was no better time than the present!
chicken stock ice cubes are such a great idea, and such a great thing to have on hand for quick sauces during the week. instead of having to open up a new can of stock, or unfreeze a whole container from the freezer, having some stock in ice cube size makes things so much faster and easier! and if you’re anything like my family, if your soup is too hot, an ice cube is a great way to cool it off just enough to take a big spoonful! BUT, that ice cube has the potential to water down the soup itself, so why not use a chicken broth (or veggie broth) ice cube instead! if you don’t have time to make the stock from scratch, this isn’t a bad idea to use with store bought stock as well!
simply pour the stock into an ice cube tray and allow to freeze overnight et voila!
