s’mores rice krispie treats
one of the blogs i follow is constantly tempting me with incredibly delicious treats. the temptress’s name is sally at sally’s baking addiction, and my good god does she test my will power day-in and day-out! one of her latests recipes was a s’mores rice krispie treat, which i just HAD to make!
i feel like i haven’t written in ages, but seeing as i’m in the last
three two weeks of school and that wedding planning is getting more and more hectic, i guess i have a good excuse. so in the interest of time, i’m just going to leave you with my modified gluten free version of sally’s delectable creation, and say bon appetit!
makes 12 large squares
6 cups gluten free rice krispies cereal
1 bag mini marshmallows (10.5 oz)
1/4 cup butter
1.5 cups gluten free graham cracker pieces
3/4 cup chocolate chips
1 T olive oil (for wiping the inside of the pan)
melt the butter in a saucepan, then add in the marshmallows and stir them until they melt completely. add in the cereal and the graham crackers and mix well. add the chips last so that they only melt slightly and still leave some whole. once everything is mixed together well, put it all into the pan, and pat it down with a spatula.
refrigerate for about 30 minutes, then cut them into squares and devour accordingly!
